MaryEllen Kiffe
executive Director, Small Group Instructor, PE Teacher
This is MaryEllen’s 6th year at Cannon Beach Academy. She is the Director for the 2025-2026 School Year and will be teaching small groups/intervention this year as well as PE. The After School Running Club is one of her favorite CBA activities. MaryEllen has taught grades 4/5/6 since 2013. She substitute taught for 6 years prior in Longview, WA. MaryEllen graduated from George Fox with a degree in Elementary Education. She lives in Cannon Beach with her adventure partner Tom and dogs Max and Lucy.

Erin Gill
Teacher: Grades 3, 4, And 5
Erin is thrilled to be joining CBA for her first year as the grades 3–5 teacher! She earned her Master’s in Teaching from George Fox University in 2013 and has taught kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade in public schools. She also earned a Waldorf Teaching Certificate and had the joy of guiding a class from 3rd through 8th grade.
Erin grew up in the Hillsboro area, where her daughter and two grandsons still live. Recently, she followed her heart to Cannon Beach—a place filled with childhood memories at her grandparents’ cabin. Now living here with her son and their dogs, Meg and Casper, exploring her favorite childhood vacation spot, and becoming a part of the CBA family and the greater Cannon Beach community feels like a dream come true!

pamela leloff
executive assistant, cook
This is Pamela's 2nd year at CBA making delicious breakfasts and lunches for students and staff. She also helps keep the school running smoothly.
She lives in Nehalem with her husband, three children, and small zoo of furry animals. She grew up in the restaurant industry and has always had a love for all things cooking, and baking. Most recently she had a licensed in-home childcare and enjoyed providing the community a fun and safe environment for their children!
Hannah Clark
teacher: ELD/Spanish Teacher
This is Hannah’s second year with CBA and enjoys working with her local community! Hannah is an Oregonian who loves being outside, running and yoga, gardening, learning new languages, and playing with her two small children. Hannah was an Elementary School teacher for 4 years in Seaside as well as teaching English abroad in Malaysia. She earned her Master’s in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College with an ESOL endorsement in 2014. She is excited to be back in the classroom doing what she loves.
bethany sandness
music teacher
Bethany Sandness has a Bachelor’s in Music Education in Voice from Portland State. This is her second year teaching at Cannon Beach Academy! She has 12 years of teaching experience and loves bringing the fun wherever she goes. She moved to the coast in 2019 and married her husband in 2022. Bethany also runs a private music teaching studio from her home in Warrenton where she offers voice, piano, ukulele, and guitar lessons!
